As our region continues to grow, it will be more important than ever for us to coordinate plans as a region and agree on priorities for an integrated, multimodal regional network. Thanks to the Sun Coast Transportation Planning Alliance partnership, the region has moved forward on many high-priority projects in each county.

  • I-4 and the SR 33 Interchange Design and Construction (Exit 38)
  • Downtown Lakeland Intermodal Transit Center
  • Regional Rapid Transit in the I-275 Corridor
  • Regional passenger rail transit connection between Tampa and Orlando

  • Pinellas Trail Loop – Gandy Blvd (Pinellas Co.)
  • Joe’s Creek Trail (Pinellas Co.)
  • Legacy Trail Overpasses (Sarasota, Manatee, Cos.)
  • Longboat Key Multi-use Trail (Sarasota, Manatee Cos.)
  • Fort Frazer Trail Bridge (Polk Co.)

Transportation Regional Incentive Program Priorities

The Transportation Regional Incentive Program (TRIP) provides dedicated funding for transportation projects that improve mobility on the regional roadway network. The SCTPA reviews and updates the priority list annually in partnership with member MPOs.
