Transportation Leaders Identify Priority Projects for the Region
~~ View the new Regional Long Range Transportation Plan for West Central Florida ~~
TAMPA BAY, FL – The Tampa Bay area is one of the fastest-growing regions in the country. We feel it every day as traffic congestion worsens and commutes get longer. The need for a forward-thinking transportation plan has become increasingly clear.
The Sun Coast Transportation Planning Alliance (SCTPA), with membership from the Hernando/Citrus, Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco, Polk, and Sarasota/Manatee metropolitan planning organizations, has developed the 2050 Regional Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP). This plan includes transportation project priorities and directs federal and state dollars toward investments of value for the region. Updated every five years, the LRTP looks out at least 20 years and is based on forecasts of future growth, on analysis of existing and future needs for many types of improvements, and on feedback provided by our communities.

- I-275 Express Lanes from I-375 to 38th Ave N (Pinellas County)
- I-275/SR 60 Tampa Westshore District Interchange Phase 3 (Hillsborough County)
- SR 54/US 41 Intersection (Pasco County)
- US 41 from SR 44 to SR 200 (Citrus County)
- Desoto Bridge Replacement (Manatee County)
- Downtown Lakeland Intermodal Transit Center (Polk County)
